Riftbound Radiance: The Musical Expansion Set to Rock the TCG!
The hit trading card game Riftbound: League of Legends TCG is preparing to take center stage once again. Following its explosive launch in late 2025 and subsequent expansion sets, Riot Games and UVS Games are officially turning the volume up to 11 with the reveal of the highly anticipated fifth set: Radiance.
Centered around artistic expression, creativity, and musical performance, this expansion is shaping up to be an absolute paradise for deck builders. Here is your ultimate, comprehensive guide to everything coming with the launch of this exciting new set!
📅 The Radiance Release Schedule
Mark your calendars for Autumn 2026! To make sure you don't miss a single beat of this musical release, UVS Games has structured a precise rolling schedule leading up to launch:
- Preview Season (September 28 – October 9, 2026): Two weeks of daily card reveals, allowing players to theorycraft and plan their future decks.
- Pre-Rift Phase (October 16 – 22, 2026): Prerelease events hosted at local game stores, giving players an early chance to play in sealed format tournaments.
- Global Release (October 23, 2026): The official wide launch, with full product availability across English, French, and Simplified Chinese languages.
🎵 Theme, Scope, and Set Structure
Embracing the core theme of "creativity and brilliance in Runeterra," Radiance introduces a massive card pool featuring 180 new cards.
For collectors, this set is a goldmine: it includes over 60 Showcase cards. These highly sought-after alternative versions stand out with spectacular, stylized artwork and premium foil treatments.
The mathematical layout of the expansion respects Riftbound's rigid "Colour Ladder" structure, which dictates card numbering, costs, and graphic layout. The ladder flows linearly as follows: Fury (Red) – Calm (Green) – Mind (Blue) – Body (Orange) – Chaos (Purple) – Order (Yellow). By utilizing a linear rarity model, each of the six domains is perfectly balanced, featuring approximately 30 cards per color in the base pool.
🎤 The Headliners: Seraphine, Evelynn, and Ekko
Radiance introduces 9 new Champion Legends, bringing fan-favorite League of Legends characters to the tabletop. Three major headliners have already been revealed:
1. Seraphine ("Seraphine, Not Alone")
The beloved pop star debuts with a double affiliation in Mind and Order (Blue/Yellow). Her Epic-rarity champion unit rewards an incredibly active, movement-focused playstyle. Rather than playing passively to hold territory, Seraphine rewards players who constantly maneuver units. Whenever other units exhaust during offensive actions, she generates free Vanguard Recruit tokens in your base. This synergizes beautifully with gear cards like Vanguard Armory or Eye of the Herald, while her Mind affiliation lets you run Jayce to ramp up resources.
2. Evelynn ("Evelynn, In Control")
Following her purely Chaos-aligned rare card in Unleashed, Evelynn steps up with a dual Body and Chaos (Orange/Purple) affiliation. This new version combines her signature, deceptive movement mechanics with massive combat power (Might) buffs when striking isolated or displaced enemy targets.
3. Ekko ("Ekko, Ingenious")
The boy who shattered time arrives with an identity inspired by his season 2 appearance in the acclaimed animated series Arcane. Utilizing a dual Fury and Mind (Red/Blue) affiliation, Ekko represents temporal manipulation through powerful card-bouncing mechanics and selective recursion from your discard pile (Trash).
Note: Champion Legends Ziggs and Jarvan IV are also officially confirmed to be among the 9 Legends in this set.

🏆 Competitive Balance & The Prestigious T1 Worlds Crossover
The arrival of Radiance follows a major shakeup in Riftbound's Organized Play. In July 2026, a sweeping ban wave removed oppressive cards like Stealthy Pursuer, The Arena's Greatest, Aspirant's Climb, and champion Master Yi (in 2v2 format) to foster a healthier and more diverse tournament environment.
Additionally, Radiance is uniquely linked to the ultra-premium Riftbound x T1 Worlds 2025 Champion Collection released in August 2026. Celebrating T1’s historic victory, this limited collection ($360 for the Signature Edition, $70 for the Player Bundle) allowed players to obtain an early promo version of Seraphine, Not Alone. To keep tournament play perfectly fair, Riot Games and UVS Games enacted a temporary ban, making this early print officially illegal in competitive play until Radiance officially launches on October 23, 2026.
🚀 Looking Ahead: The 2027 Roadmap
While Radiance acts as the perfect finale to Riftbound's spectacular 2026 schedule, Riot Games has already mapped out a thrilling lineup for 2027:
- Legacy (Set 6) – January 29, 2027: The largest set in the game's history (346 cards), specifically designed for Draft formats and carrying regional banners. It features Legends like Garen, Ashe, Vladimir, and Heimerdinger.
- Proving Grounds (2nd Edition) – February 19, 2027: An updated starter product featuring four new champion decks fully translated into French, English, Chinese, and Korean.
- The Reckoning (Set 7) – April 30, 2027: A cosmic expansion introducing massive ancient colossi, including Aurelion Sol and Cho'Gath.
